INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS

Have you ever seen or used a computer before? What did you think it was doing? How was your first experience?

In this lesson, we will discover what a computer really is, what it can do, and why it’s one of the most powerful tools for business in today’s world.

What Is a Computer?

“A computer is a machine that helps people work faster, think better, and do many things more easily. It takes information, processes it, and gives results.”

Breaking it down into three easy parts:

  1. Input (you give it something):
Like typing, clicking, or speaking to it.
Example: You type a name on the keyboard.
  2. Process (it thinks):
The computer works on what you give it.
Example: It finds that name in a list.
  3. Output (it gives a result):
The computer shows or prints something for you.
Example: It shows the person’s photo or details.

Here are some simple life uses of computers:

  • In Business:
    • You can keep records of sales and customers safely.
    • You can make posters or price lists using a computer.
    • You can sell your products online.
